� winner second-year player bill lunde earned a spot in this week’s pga championship with the first win of his pga tour career, a one-stroke victory over J.J. henry at the turning stone resort championship. lunde made six birdies on the front nine sunday and finished with a 66 for a 17-under 271. a 34-year-old las vegas resident, lunde more than tripled his 2010 earnings—he had $324,734 coming into the week— going over the $1 million mark for the season.

�noteworthy lunde’s three top- 10 finishes in 2010 have come in opposite-field events. he was t- 10 at the puerto rico open (opposite the wgc-ca championship) and the reno-tahoe open (british open).

�record round henry tied the course record with a final-round 63 that included seven birdies and an eagle on the par- 5 12th hole. Jonathan byrd, charles warren and chris couch also had rounds of 63 during the week.
