eliminate fred funk. the pair

scores of 69-67, could have
won his seventh champions
tour title, but he failed to
convert a three-foot birdie
putt on the par- 5 18th sunday, setting up a playoff. “it
was my tournament to win,”
said funk.

victory was cochran’s first
since the 1991 western
open on the pga tour. the
kentuckian, who learned
the game playing ladies’
clubs, sat out for nearly
six years at one point with
wrist and elbow problems
that eventually required
surgery.
