final (oct. 27-nov. 5) in mesquite,
nev.? according to don hurter, head
professional at castle pines gc in
castle rock, colo., sadlowski was
at the club last week and played the
640-yard, par- 5 first hole with a
driver and lob wedge, blasting his tee
shot 488 yards. sadlowski, who uses
an adams speedline 9064ld driver,

van insider in winning the austrian open José manuel lara used a
ping scottsdale half pipe that miguel
angel Jiménez gave him. three
weeks ago lara tried to get his own
half pipe but ping’s euro tour rep
didn’t have one, prompting Jiménez
to part with the club. lara used it two
weeks ago, ending a streak of nine
straight weeks out of the money with
a t- 4 at the klm open. after that
lara told the ping rep to build Jiménez a new club because he was keeping the one Jiménez had lent him.
coming soon you never know
what david dawsey of golf-patents.
com will find. last week it was a
recently published patent application
for a callaway driver. unlike most
drivers, where the bottom of the club-face is near the ground when soled,
the callaway patent allows for a sole
design that raises the bottom of the
face off the ground. conventionally,
players strive to hit the center of the
face, but with this design the contact
point would be slightly higher, producing less backspin.

twitter talk tour pros routinely dish on yet-to-be-released
equipment on their twitter pages.
last week graeme mcdowell
provided a sneak peek of callaway’s
new diablo octane driver, writing:
“check this puppy out!! the new callaway octane driver. coming at you
in november of this year. very hot.”
… less interesting was tiger woods’
session on nike’s twitter page. not
much there, but if you want to see
what the man said about his equipment go to twitter.com/nikegolf.
