kaymer and
mcdowell
the pga tour may not have attracted lee
westwood into its fold in 2011, but it did gain
a few major champions. u.s. open winner
graeme mcdowell and pga champ martin
kaymer have indicated that they will join
the u.s.-based circuit next year. mcdowell
(shown riding in a jet from the ryder cup
in wales to the dunhill championship in
scotland) said he would like to redeem
himself after an injury-plagued season in the
states in 2006. “i want to give it a go next
year because it’s a non-ryder cup year,” said
mcdowell. “i would like to try to play [for]
the fedex cup.” he has a home in orlando,
so expect him to add some florida events to
his schedule. kaymer, who has a u.s. base in
scottsdale, said after the pga championship
that he would likely take membership in 2011.
who knows, if kaymer keeps winning—
sunday’s victory at st. andrews was his third in a
row—maybe the world’s no. 1 player will be a
pga tour member after all.
