 winner thanks to
thorbjorn olesen, robert
rock knew exactly what
he needed to do to win the
bmw Italian open. oleson,
out early Sunday, shot a
10-under 62 to post a 267
total, and rock, the third-round leader, was aware
he needed a 67 to win his
first european tour event.
and that’s what he shot,
the 34-year-old englishman
finishing at 21-under 267,
one better than olesen and
Gary boyd. rock’s key run
came on holes 5-11, where
he made six birdies in seven
holes to get to 21 under. he
played the final seven holes
in even par to record his first
win in nine years on tour.
