02lpga: the fun begins the quirks and challenges of the lpga schedule have become an old— and repetitive—story but one worth revisiting. the victory sunday by ani tseng at the wegmans lpga championship positions her for what could be a lucrative run of success if she can keep up the good play. be- ginning with the wegmans, three of four lpga events are major cham- pionships and the fourth is the evian masters (shown), where the $3.25 million purse is matched only by that at next week’s u.s. women’s open. how is this for an odd schedule? lpga championship, off week,

the week after the women’s british has been pushed back to the fall—
at best. but good news will arrive tuesday when the tour announces a
tournament stop in waterloo, canada—between toronto and detroit—
beginning next year. for 2011, the next u.s. event doesn’t come until the
safeway classic near portland, ore., aug. 19-21, and there are only three
