sister died of breast cancer,
won for the first time on
the champions tour, beating Jeff sluman and John
huston by one at the sas
championship. the 51-year-
old perry, a 14-time winner
on the pga tour, had an
11-under 205—the highest
winning score in tournament history.
lowed perry to take a two-stroke lead over sluman and
huston into the final hole.
sluman, playing a group
ahead, made par on 18, as
did huston. perry missed
the green and made bogey,
for a one-shot final margin.
