�deBut;the technology goals of taylormade’s rocketballz fairway woods remain true to the company’s focus of creating speed for golfers. specifically, the clubs boast a slot in the sole designed to help the crown and the high-strength 455 steel face flex more at impact. the fairway woods (which have a slightly deeper face) are cast from stainless steel and get as thin as 0.4 millimeters in the crown. the saved weight is used to create a center of gravity that is low and forward to promote a faster ball speed with low spin. price: $230.

�rocket;man along with its introduction of rocketballz woods, taylormade also debuted rocketballz hybrids and irons. camilo villegas tested the new irons at the franklin templeton shootout. villegas (and his partner, rickie fowler) finished t- 6 at tiburon gc. … in the bag of chris dimarco at the shootout was a ping eye 2 wedge. unlike the clubs that caused a furor more than a year ago, dimarco’s wedge had grooves that conform to the new groove statute.

�old;dog,;new;StickS kenny perry has been with taylormade for nearly 20 years but will wear a new hat (and play new clubs) in

2012. perry and adams golf have agreed on a multiyear pact that will have perry using adams equipment on the pga and champions tour next year. perry starts his 2012 campaign at the mitsubishi electric championship. perry will use an adams speedline driver and fairway wood along with adams idea hybrids and irons.

�Small;ironS,;Big;reSultS nick price used miura’s 1957 model forged muscle-back blades at the franklin templeton shootout. the irons boast a smaller head size ( approximately 15 percent smaller than miura’s other blade irons) and are designed to make the club easier to square at impact. the clubs also feature a denser face to provide mass behind the hitting area as well as a penetrating ball flight. price (and his partner, mark calcavec-chia) finished t- 2.

�deSign;your;own cleveland golf recently introduced its forged 588 wedge. last week it added to the options for the club with the debut of mycustomwedge.com—a website that allows consumers to personalize the sticks. there are several options. they include: engravings, choice of paintfill, decorative designs and even select grind options. (note: consumers can opt to leave the club free of engravings.) price for the personalized clubs is $200 each.
