miyazato’s great eight
lpga tour // lotte championship
 winner ai miyazato
made three birdies on
her last six holes to break
away from azahara munoz, meena lee and cristie
kerr to win the lpga lotte
championship by four
strokes. the four battled
throughout the final round
with kerr falling off the pace
with three straight bogeys
to start the back nine and
munoz dropping out with
bogeys on nos. 10 and 14.
lee, who was playing ahead
of miyazato in the final
round, made double-bogey
6 on the last hole.
noteworthy the win
was the first of the year for
miyazato, and the eighth
of her career. she has two
runner-up finishes in 2012,
at the honda lpga thailand and the rr donnelley
lpga founders cup. … yani
tseng, t- 10, had her seventh
straight top- 10 finish in 2012
and her eighth straight dating to last year. … miyazato
credited putting tips from
her father—he suggested a
change in her stance and a
weaker grip—as keys to her
victory. miyazato led the
field in total putts with 107.
