combined to shoot a better-ball 62 sunday to finish at
29-under 187, beating John
cook and Joey sindelar by
one stroke at the liberty mutual legends of golf.

before John cook made a
45-foot birdie to get it back
to one. the leaders made
par the rest of the way, fin-
ishing the final hole in heavy
rain that swept in off the
savannah river.

des smyth and mark James
defeated denis watson and
steve Jones by one stroke
with a 36-hole total of
19-under 125. James holed a
45-foot par putt on the 18th
hole to secure the win. it was
the second straight year the
pair won the division.
