kuchar holds on for players title

shot a final-round 70 to hold
off martin laird, zach Johnson, rickie fowler and ben
curtis by two strokes at the
players championship at
tpc sawgrass. kuchar, who
finished at 13-under 275,
won for the first time since
the 2010 barclays and for
the fourth time in his career.

birdied the hole and fowler
birdied both 16 and 17 to get
to 11 under, kuchar made
a 15-foot putt for birdie to
get to 14 under and take a
three-stroke lead. the margin allowed him to bogey 17
and keep a two-stroke lead
with one hole to play.
