wiNNer;Henrik stenson
knew he needed a good
week at the south african
open to secure his spot in
the field at the dp world
tour championship in dubai.
He got just that, shooting
17-under 271 to win the
open by three strokes over
george coetzee. the pair
was tied with nine holes to
play, but stenson made three
birdies and no bogeys on the
back, while the south african
could do no better than even
par. it was stenson’s first win
since the 2009 players and
first on the euro tour since
the 2007 wgc-accenture
match play championship.
the victory moves him to
45th on the european money
list. the top 60 players ad-
vance to this week’s season
finale in dubai.
